Magnetic Calibration

Timing of Magnetic Calibration

When using magnetic correction on (default), perform magnetic calibration to adapt to your environment. You don't have to do it every time.Magnetic calibration is required in the following cases:

  • When using for the first time with the magnetic correction on setting

  • When updating Uni-sensor

  • When replacing batteries(Not required if the same battery is inserted in the same direction.)

  • If you haven't used it for a long time

  • When the sensor does not follow the movement of the body properly and behaves unnaturally

磁気キャリブレーション

*When using the VR full body mode for the first time, we recommend turning off the magnetic correction. If the magnetic correction function is off, magnetic calibration is not required.

Magnetic calibration procedure

① Turn off the power of all Uni-sensors and then start Uni-studio.

② Click “Enable” in “Magnetic Correction” to check it.

③ Click the gear icon to open the setting menu, and click "Uni-sensor" on the setting menu.

Also, at this time, confirm that all Uni-sensors are the same version.

④ Place the Uni-sensor in the case as shown in the image.
*Up to 4 Uni-sensors can be calibrated at once.

⑤ Turn on the Uni-sensor in the case.

⑥ Confirm that the sensor is recognized by Uni-studio. (The cube will be green or red or blue)

⑦ Click “Start magnetic calibration”.

⑨ Close the lid of the sensor case, and rotate the case once around each of the vertical, horizontal, and horizontal axes as shown in the video.

⑩ Click “Stop magnetic calibration”. (The cube will be green or red or blue)

⑪ Make sure that the cube faces the same direction no matter which direction the case is oriented. If it is not in the same direction, turn off the power of Uni-sensor and repeat the operations from ⑥ to ⑫.

⑫ Turn off the Uni-sensor in the case.

⑬ Magnetic calibration of 4 Uni-sensors is completed! To perform the magnetic calibration of the remaining Uni-sensors, repeat the operations from ⑤ to ⑬.

(Tips) How to do figure 8 calibration

Alternatively, you can do a Figure 8 calibration. (For experienced users)

  • Move the case to draw a three-dimensional figure 8.

  • Snap your wrist and aim the sensor in any direction.

  • Normally, calibration is completed in about 20 seconds.

Magnetic correction setting

*When changing Uni-studio settings, be sure to turn on the power of all Un-Sensors. If the Uni-sensor is powered off, the setting changes will not be reflected.

① Turn on the power of all Uni-sensors.
② Click “Enable” in “Magnetic Correction” to check it.
